About My Blog
I am often reminded as an educator that teaching should be a reflective practice. One should constantly analyze their lessons and respond accordingly. I have decided to put this practice into effect in my life in general now. I feel that this will allow me to find more clarity as to what life holds in store for me and help me to be a better husband, father and person in general. Over the course of these writings, you may or may not agree with all (or anything) I post. But that is OK. Perhaps you will find some information that is helpful for you in my writings or at least be entertained a little.
About Me
I figure I ought to give you a little information about the person writing these words, so here goes! As I mentioned above, I am a teacher in the local school system. My main focus is working with high school students in developing the knowledge and skills used to work in the game design industry. However, I have not always been an educator.
Prior to teaching, I worked as a researcher and one-man IT department for a small nonprofit laboratory. Topic of research: Parapsychology. Yes, we looked into those strange and almost surreal areas like ESP, psychokinesis, ghosts and so forth.
I have also served time in the US Air Force working on the F-16 fighter jet. During my time in the military, I got to visit places I would have never had the chance to go otherwise and find my time there invaluable. It is also where I met my wife!
So I guess you can say that I have a a set of varied experiences to draw from in my writings.
